Terms & Conditions

“You” and “Your” refer to the customer; “Tour” is the tour you have selected from this website and “We” and “Us” are Queensferry Moto Routes Limited. 

The applicable deposit per person per tour is payable to Us upon booking. We shall accept and confirm Your booking only if You: duly and properly complete, irrevocably accept and sign the waiver form that We send to You and send to Us at the address specified on the Booking Form the completed and signed waiver form together with a fully completed booking form and deposit Payment of Balance. We will send out an Invoice/Booking Confirmation which must be paid in full 6 weeks before the tour you are travelling on otherwise We shall cancel Your reservation.

You, Your Motorcycle/equipment

You must ensure that Your motorcycle is road worthy, in good working order and suitably insured. We also insist that each rider has breakdown cover on either themselves, their bike or both to ensure the smooth running of each tour. We strongly advise taking out appropriate travel and medical insurance (in the event of booking a European tour).

If We Change Your Booking

The arrangements for Your tour are made months in advance and changes are sometimes unavoidable. Most of these changes are, however, very minor, but where they are significant, We will notify You as soon as is reasonably possible before Your tour. A significant change would be regarded as changes to the tour itself, dates, routes or accommodation provided or a complete change of Tour itinerary which involves a shortening or lengthening of the tour meaning you may have to change your arrangements to suit. 

In the event of a significant change, You may decide to a) continue with the tour as amended or b) accept an alternative tour which We may offer to You or c) cancel Your booking and receive a full refund. 

We are not liable to You for any other compensation or expenses arising from such change in booking other than to refund all monies you have paid to us. 

If We Cancel Your Booking

We reserve the right, in any circumstances, to cancel Your booking, giving You six weeks’ notification (except in circumstances beyond Our control) and a full refund of all monies paid. However, should the acceptable minimum number of places on the tour not be reached We will offer You a) a full refund b) comparable alternative c) a supplement in order to operate the Tour with a minimum number of persons.

Delays in the Journey

We cannot be responsible for any unforeseen delays in Your tour, eg. Ferry crossings, severe weather interruptions etc. In the event of a delay, You will be responsible for providing Your own meals and accommodation over and above that which you have already paid for. 

Passport and Visa Requirements (in the event of a European tour)

UK passport holders need only a passport for visiting EU countries. Please advise if You hold a non-UK passport as You may be prevented from travel without the proper visas and documentation, according to the Carrier Liability Act and in such circumstances You shall remain liable for full payment of the cost of the Tour subject to Your rights of cancellation set out in these Terms.

Health Formalities

You must ensure that you are suitably vaccinated for European travel. Usually this involves carrying the UK NHS app on your phone with confirmation of vaccination status. This remains Your responsibility. 

Our Responsibility

We will use Our reasonable endeavours to supply services to the standards described in the tour documentation. We will not be liable for the following conditions which may affect the services or the Tour.

  1. Some amenities (eg. hotel lifts, swimming pools, etc) require servicing and cleaning and may not therefore be available at all times. 

  2. Some services may be affected by weather conditions and their availability is entirely at the discretion of the provider of the service, eg. Ferries, bridges etc.

  3. The published running times of services are estimates only and We will not be liable for any loss (howsoever caused) arising from the delay or failure to operate services in accordance with published timings. We make every effort to ensure that proper arrangements have been made for all Tours advertised on Our web site and that the suppliers of the services which You will enjoy during Your Tour are efficient and reputable. 

  4. We accept responsibility for any deficiencies in the services We are contractually obliged to provide. We shall not be responsible for death, bodily injury or illness caused by activities engaged in, during the tour or otherwise, which you engage in whether as part of the tour or out with its scope. If necessary, please follow Our complaints procedure (see below).

Surcharges

There may be instances where circumstances beyond Our control dictate an increase in the cost. We will not pass on any increase less than 2% which occurs after the printing of the tour brochure. We reserve the right to introduce a surcharge for increases larger than this if they occur more than 6 weeks before travel. You will be given the option of cancelling without penalty 6 weeks before travel, as stated earlier.

Cancellation Charges

Will be levied as follows:
More than 60 days before tour: Deposit only
60 days - 30 days of the tour: 60% of tour cost
Within 30 days of the tour: 100% of tour cost
A no-show always incurs 100% cancellation charge

If You are prevented from travelling on a tour for any reason, You may transfer the booking to another person, providing that a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice is given to Us.

In certain circumstances, We recognise that emergencies do happen and can often result in You being unable to attend with limited notice. We will always try and accommodate Your request wherever possible however we cannot guarantee that a refund will be possible. Please contact us as soon as possible if You are unable to attend and we will be as flexible as possible.

Complaints Procedure

Should You have any reason to feel that We have not met our obligations, please put Your comments in writing, within one month of return, quoting the tour name you rode and date to:
